Andrew Joseph “Mickey” Parker, Sr., age 76 passed away at his home, Sunday, July 11, 2021. Mr. Parker was born in Savannah on January 16, 1945 and was a graduate of Savannah High School, class of 1963. He was a veteran of the United States Army National Guard with 13 years of service as a Radio Section SGT. Mr. Parker worked for his dear friend, Mike Hosti at the Tybee Island Market, was a former inspector for the Georgia Ports Authority, was a warehouse manager for Great Dane and was a marine surveyor. He enjoyed shrimping and hunting and loved to travel. Mr. Parker was a member of the Chatham Artillery and was a member of Ellabell United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, Mr. Parker was preceded in death by his grandmother that raised him, Clara Mae Sheridan, two brothers, one sister and half-sister, Judy Stelzer.
Survivors include his wife, Henrietta Pope Lee Parker of Ellabell; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Sean P. and Tammy Parker of New York and Andrew J. Parker, Jr. of Millen; one daughter, Annie Parker of Jacksonville, two step-daughters and a step son-in-law, Lisa Lee Myers Ciucevich of Ellabell and Leslie and Eric Collins of Ellabell; one brother-in-law, Dale Stelzer of MN; two grandsons, Ryan Parker and Andrew J. Parker, III; two step grandsons, Daniel K. Polk and Cody L. Myers; three step great grandchildren; and Eldora, his beloved cat.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 A. M. Friday, July 16, 2021 at Ellabell United Methodist Church with Rev. Dylan Bowden officiating. Visitation and lunch will immediately follow the service in the church social hall.
The family would like to recognize Ogeechee Area Hospice for their special care during Mr. Mickey’s illness. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ellabell United Methodist Church Building Fund, PO Box 36, Ellabell, GA 31308.
