Mr. Allen McLesson Ransom Jr, 57, of Pembroke Georgia passed away at home on March 7, 2023 after a difficult battle with chronic illnesses. His battle with chronic illness in recent years displayed his courage and strong will.
Allen was born on May 2, 1965, to Allen Ransom Sr. and Sarah Janice Ransom in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was educated in the Detroit public school system and graduated from Cody High School. After graduation, Allen aspired to be a nurse at Oakland University. In 1986 he left Oakland University and started a beautiful family.
During his life, Allen’s talent and curiosity led him to explore many career choices, like being deputy sheriff for Gwinnett County in Georgia. Still, he found his passion as a long-haul truck driver for YRC Freight. As a truck driver, Allen indulged in a few of his favorite things, traveling, eating great food, and enjoying a few rounds at a slot machine.
Allen was a force to be reckoned with, determined to be the joy of his loved ones’ lives and a reminder to never give up on one’s aspirations. His family and friends meant much to him, and he expressed his love uniquely and earnestly.
Allen was a loving believer who possessed joy in conversation; He thoroughly enjoyed the fullness of his experience in life. Allen was predeceased by his mother, Sarah, and his father, Allen. He is survived by children Ashlie Thomas (Tyler Thomas), Allen Ransom III, Dannie Ransom, Alyxandria Ransom, and grandchildren Allen, Melanie, and Maliyah, his nieces Yasmeen Johnson, KhaRemah Johnson, NaDirah Johnson, and his two siblings Sarah Jane Ransom and Stepheny Ransom."
To honor Allen’s life, the family asks each of his loved ones to reflect with them on what it means to live a life of worthiness, dignity, and pride.
A Memorial and Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
